Four Swords Manga Songs (According to Me)
Back to main page
Everyone has character playlists, usually hosted on Spotify. I hate Spotify with a burning passion, so I decided to make this page to share my "playlists" instead.
Some of these songs relate to the characters or story (at least in my opinion), or they simply have a feeling to them that reminds me of the character.
Sorry in advance for my shitty and outdated music taste.
Some songs listed are not sung in English, but you can usually find English translations of them online.
Where applicable, I will include a small annotation explaining a song choice or otherwise noting something about the song.
I will not be linking to these songs since I worry about links breaking, so please look them up with the information provided.
Overall Story or Chapter-Specific Songs
- "Rose Naked Body ~ Shura - Flesh Constellation in the αψζ Nebula-" by J.A. Seazer
This is the song that I want to play if the Green and Vio duel is ever animated. It's so good.
- "Internal Clock, Municipal Orrery" by J.A. Seazer
This is the song I want to play if the final battle with Vaati is ever animated. Specifically, I'd want the second half of the battle to be set to this, and it reaches the "shoumetsu!" line as Shadow pushes the Dark Mirror over.
- The Legend of Zelda theme from The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition
The version of the theme from FSA is not energetic enough to me. If the manga were animated, I would want this to be the opening theme.
- "C/O/T/D" by Coaltar of the Deepers
The lyrics don't really fit the manga, but the sound of it makes it perfect for a montage of action shots from many different scenes in the manga.
- "Parched Peak" level music from Pokémon Quest
Another song that would be really good for a summary montage.
- "The Saber Song Thing" by hirosashii
Wow! Wouldn't it be so cool if there was a Four Swords manga fighting ga- *shot*
- "Some Kind of Magic (feat. MYZICA)" by LVTHER
If there was a Four Swords manga movie, I would want this to be the credits song. The lyrics don't exactly fit unless you see them as platonic (which I totally can), but the sound of the music in the back really sells it to me.
The Links as a Group
- "Donut Hole" by Hachi
The original PV for this song really reminds me of the Links.
Individual Links
Green
- Almost the entire I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME discography
The sound of these songs just makes me think of Green.
- "Projector" by Set It Off
- "Ta Fête" by Stromae
The way Stromae carries himself in the music video, as well as the cautionary tone of the lyrics? 100% Green.
- "Cosmic Love" by Florence + the Machine
- "Planet" by Anamanaguchi
- "Living Mice" by C418
I headcanon that Green plays piano, and this is one of his favorite songs to play when he needs to destress.
- "Mystery Colors" by Astronauts. etc.
Look into the center of the spinning wheel / Tell me what you feel, tell me what you feel
- "Never Enough" by Loren Allred
I never saw The Greatest Showman. I just heard this song and immediately associated it with Green. I mean, come on. A song about how you could own the world, but without the right person (or people) with you, it would never be enough? That's Green.
- "Nonsense (feat. Mark Foster)" by Madeon
- "Paralyzed" and "Paralyzed (Aeroplane Remix)" by Mystery Skulls
- "Safe & Sound" by Taylor Swift
Sorry for putting a Taylor Swift song on here. I usually dislike her music, but this song is literally Green.
- "Selfish High Heels (feat. Macross 82-99 & Harrison)" by Yung Bae, Macross 82-99 & Harrison
- "Sickly Sweet Holidays" by Dallon Weekes
- "#8 regret" by Dedf1sh (Toru Minegishi, Shiho Fujii, and Ryo Nagamatsu) from Splatoon 2
- "Honeybee" by Steam Powered Giraffe
I just think Green is a lovesick puppy when he's in love.
- The Ice Rider/Ghost Rider Calyrex battle theme from Pokémon Sword & Shield
Regal-sounding songs simply remind me of Green.
- The Cipher Peon battle theme from Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness
I have no real reason for this. It's the feeling of the song plus the trumpets, y'know?
- "rises the moon" by Liana Flores
- "Boats & Birds" by Gregory and the Hawk
Perhaps the most Green song of all time. I shouldn't have to explain this one.
- "Vanilla Twilight" by Owl City
The stars lean down to kiss you / But I lie awake and miss you
- "Prayers/Triangles (Com Truise Remix)" by Deftones
Red
Blue
- "Dirty" by grandson
- "Identity" by grandson
- "Riptide" by grandson
- "Sail" by AWOLNATION
Blame it on my ADD, baby!
- "Honeybrains" by Royal Blood
- "Not Holding Back" by Ivory Rasmus
I have no explanation for this one except that my partner says it's a Blue song. Sue me. Though I do think "When we first met, I had a heart attack" fits Blue well.
Vio
- "Jigsaw Puzzle" by mafumafu
- "ECHO" by CIRCRUSH (CircusP+Crusher-P)
- "Cherry Pepsi" by SAINT PEPSI (Skylar Spence)
- "Meltdown (feat. Rin Kagamine)" by iroha
- "Resonance" by Home
- "Pop Culture" by Madeon
- "Surge & Submerge" by ω-3 (Toru Minegishi, Shiho Fujii, and Ryo Nagamatsu) originally from Splatoon 2
- "Meteor Shower" by Owl City
- "Last Night I Dreamt..." by The Wombats
Vio is a child, so ignore the last line of the song.
- "How to Save a Life" by the Fray
This song is overplayed and mediocre, and it just screams how people wrote Vio in the olden days (or as I call them, the dark ages). Unfortunately, I still associate it with him thinking about Shadow. Sorry.
- "K.K. Cruisin'" by K.K. Slider (Toru Minegishi) from Animal Crossing
This is purely based on the cover art for this song from Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
- "Honeybrains" by Royal Blood
- "D.A.N.C.E." by Justice
Preferably the instrumental version, but the song fits Vio even with the lyrics.
- "Pop 'n' Schlock" by Chroma Chaos (Toru Minegishi, Shiho Fujii, and Ryo Nagamatsu) originally from Splatoon 3
Shadow
- "Meltdown (feat. Rin Kagamine)" by iroha
- "Infra-Red" by Placebo
"Someone call the ambulance / There's gonna be an accident" is literally Shadow as he's about to kill Vio as revenge for betraying him.
- "Tokyo Teddy Bear" by neru
Sorry.
Special
Red and Vio
- "Love Like You (End Credits)" by Rebecca Sugar
I hate Steven Universe, but this song is literally Vio talking about Red, so I will allow it.
- "drop pop candy (feat. Rin Kagamine and Luka Megurine)" by Giga-P
Red and Blue
- "My Skateboard Will Go On" by Anamanaguchi
Blue and Vio
- "Honeybrains" by Royal Blood
Yes, this was on their individual lists. They would also sing it together. Blue is the main vocals and Vio is the backing vocals. I rest my case.
- "Not Holding Back" by Ivory Rasmus
I want you to imagine Blue and Vio going on a night drive.
